Why vacation work?

Providing potential employees with the opportunity to work with us for a short term on either a work experience placement or as a vacation worker has a number of advantages:

  • It allows you to gain a greater understanding of what we do and how we go about it;
  • You can begin to learn our systems and develop some of the skills that you would use as a full time employee.
  • You get to meet the people you would work with as a full time employee, and to sample the culture of the organisation;
  • We get to assess you in a less high pressure environment, giving us a far better picture of your abilities and fit within the organisation than we can ever gain from an interview or assessment centre.

Work experience/vacation work opportunities

We have no set programme of vacation work but are flexible as to the timing and duration of work experience or vacation work. Generally to make the exercise meaningful we would look for a minimum of two weeks duration with perhaps a maximum of four weeks, but this can be considered on a case by case basis.
