Transaction Activity Update
09/09/2009
Since the back end of last year the transactional activity in the sector has been very limited, with the majority of acquisitions being made through the administrators.
Through ASE's in-house acquisition and disposal service it appears that this is changing with a number of deals on the horizon.
David Kendrick, Transaction Manager at ASE said "Many dealers have had a strong start to the year through used car profitability and the scrappage scheme. It appears that a number of dealers have enjoyed this period and are now looking at exit strategies. There are some very good businesses out there that have cash and are ready to expand, goodwill may even start to appear once again with many businesses heading towards a profitable year end."
This has been re-enforced by both Hyundai and Suzuki both announcing in recent weeks a number of new locations that have managed to gain representation across the country.
