Purpose of Department
Design and Development is responsible for taking the needs of the business and its customers and translating that into the design, development, and testing of new solutions. This whilst also enhancing or consolidating current solutions.
Purpose of the Role
This role is responsible for the development of reports, including supporting tools. On-going support will also form part of the duties as required.
Collaboration with other team members, including review and input to technical discussions will be expected along with the production of documentation. Senior developers are expected to act as mentors to junior team members, and will be held to high expectations of technical excellence and professional conduct.
- Develop, maintain and support internally developed reports.
- Produce appropriate documentation to support the above.
- Provide ad-hoc maintenance and support function.
- Provide technical expertise and consultancy to the business.
- Mentor junior team members.
We need you to:
- Be responsible for the whole reporting lifecycle from generation through to release of various reports on various engines.
- Test reports and retain evidence of the quality of the reports.
- Provide third line support for all environments and reports.
Microsoft technical skills, including:
o Power BI
o Excel VBA
o Visual Studio
o Proficient in SQL objects especially stored procedures
o Team Foundation Server
o Visual Studio
o Attention to detail
o High level of accuracy
o Ability to solve complex issues
o Inter-personal skills to lead the client and colleagues to best practices
