Investing in People and Development
We support programmes that benefit our local communities around the world. Investing in young people, supporting schools and colleges through work placements and employability skills. We provide accredited Graduate Training schemes, School Leaver and Apprenticeship programmes leading to promising careers for young people around the world across all of our global business functions.
The ASE Training Academy provides a comprehensive range of in-house training courses for technical skills, soft management skills, leadership development and automotive industry expertise, to ensure the continual personal development of all our employees.
Proof of our commitment to young people and their development is reflected in ASE’s membership of The 5% Club. Supporting the aim of ensuring that 5% of our UK workforce are apprentices, graduates or sponsored students on structured programmes within the five years.
Committed to ensuring a gender balance within ASE and the automotive industry, we are members of The UK Automotive 30% Club. The 30% Club is working towards having women in 30% of key leadership positions by 2030, believing that gender balance not only encourages better leadership and governance, but diversity further contributes to better all-round business performance.
We are continually running initiatives to make a difference to charitable causes and our local communities, from ASE offices throughout the world. This has included, volunteer programmes, sponsored events and supporting specific projects.
40 years old and £50,000
Our most ambitious project was to raise £40,000, in celebration of our 40 year anniversary, for Macmillan Cancer Support. We are delighted to have smashed our target with our staff raising over £50,000. For this initiative alone members of the ASE team have participated in the following fund raising activities:
ASE Charity Ball
The culmination of this fundraising feat was the ASE Charity Ball under the wings of Concord. The fundraising campaign raised an amazing £50,000.
ASE work hard to minimise the effect our business operations have on the environment.
As a global business serving clients around the world, national and international travel is at times unavoidable. However, through the use of car sharing for client meetings and technology such as webinars and on line video conferencing, we are working to mitigate our environmental impact in this area.
Initiatives to reduce our environmental impact are in place within ASE’s offices, these include:
- Recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic, photocopier toners and ink cartridges
- Setting double-sided printing as default to reduce the amount of printed materials
- Sharing of waste bins at staff desks
- The operation of sensored lighting throughout the offices
- Provision of drinking mugs and glasses for employee use
- The use of renewable energy suppliers
- The use of environmentally friendly waste management companies
